About
Last updated:
TruckBedCoverFinder.com is an independent editorial site built by ASE-certified mechanics, off-road racers, and ex-automotive journalists who use pickups every day. We test tonneau covers on real trucks, in real weather, for months at a time — and we tell you what actually works.
Why we started
In 2024, our editor-in-chief was shopping for a tonneau cover for his 2024 F-150. After 14 hours of research, every “review” he found was either a thinly-rewritten spec sheet, a Reddit thread, or a paid-placement listicle. Nobody had actually installed the things. Nobody had driven 10,000 miles with one. Nobody had stood in a thunderstorm with a flashlight checking for leaks.
So we built the site we wished existed.
How we’re different
- We buy what we test. Anonymous purchase, or we return after testing. We never keep brand-supplied units that influence rankings.
- We test on the truck. Not on a workbench, not in a press release. We install on our own pickups and drive them.
- We publish failures. If a the going rate cover leaks, we say so. Brands have asked us to soften reviews. We don’t.
- We track over time. Our top picks have 9–18+ months of ownership data, not weekend impressions.
- We disclose everything. Every affiliate link is marked. Every commission is small relative to your trust.
How we make money
When you click “Check price” and buy through one of our links, we may earn a small commission — usually 3–8% of the sale, paid by Amazon or the brand’s affiliate network. It costs you nothing extra. It’s how we keep the lights on, fund the next round of testing, and stay independent of brand-paid coverage. Read our full affiliate disclosure.
What we cover
Truck bed covers (tonneau covers) for every major US pickup — Ford, Chevrolet, GMC, Ram, Toyota, Nissan, Honda, Jeep, Hyundai, and Rivian — across every body style and bed length. Our testing covers all six cover types (hard folding, soft roll-up, hard roll-up, retractable, tri-fold, hinged) and the ten brands we consider top-tier.
