This privacy policy explains how TruckBedCoverFinder.com (“we,” “us,” “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you visit this website. We aim to collect the minimum information needed to run and improve the site.

1. Information we collect

a. Information you give us directly

  • Email address — when you submit a contact form or tip.
  • Comments — name, email, and comment body, if you post on an article.

b. Information we collect automatically

  • Server logs — IP address, user-agent, requested URL, timestamp, HTTP referrer. Retained for security and abuse-prevention for up to 30 days.
  • Analytics events — anonymized pageviews and aggregate behavior (privacy-respecting, no cross-site tracking; see “Third-party services” below).

2. How we use information

  • To operate the website and deliver requested content.
  • To respond to messages you send us.
  • To detect and prevent abuse, spam, and security threats.
  • To measure aggregate traffic and improve content.
  • To comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell personal information. We do not share it with third parties for cross-context behavioral advertising.

3. Cookies

We use a small number of cookies, in three categories:

  • Strictly necessary — cookies required for the site to function (e.g. CSRF tokens for forms).
  • Preferences — a cookie that remembers your color-scheme choice if you change it.
  • Analytics — a pseudonymous identifier used by our privacy-respecting analytics provider to count unique daily visits. No cross-site profile is built.

We do not use advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, or social-media tracking pixels. Embedded YouTube videos load from youtube-nocookie.com and do not set cookies until you press play.

4. Affiliate links

When you click an outbound affiliate link, the destination retailer (e.g. Amazon) may set its own cookies and collect its own data subject to its own privacy policy. Those cookies are not set by us — they are set by the retailer once you arrive on their site. See our affiliate disclosure.

5. Third-party services

We use a small set of third-party services:

  • Cloudflare — CDN, DDoS protection, edge caching.
  • Google Fonts — served via fonts.googleapis.com.
  • Privacy-respecting analytics (e.g. Plausible or Cloudflare Web Analytics) — pageview counts, no personal data.
  • YouTube (no-cookie variant) — embedded video player.
  • Amazon / affiliate networks — outbound link tracking only on click.

6. How long we keep information

  • Server logs: up to 30 days.
  • Contact-form messages: as long as needed to respond, then archived for up to 24 months.
  • Comments: until you ask us to delete them.
  • Analytics: aggregated counts retained indefinitely; raw events purged within 12 months.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, port, or restrict processing of your personal data. To exercise any of these rights, see our contact page. We will respond within 30 days.

EU / UK (GDPR): our legal bases are (a) consent (where you submit a form), (b) legitimate interests (security logs, aggregate analytics), and (c) legal obligation (records we are required to keep). You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

California (CCPA / CPRA): you have the right to know, delete, correct, and opt out of any “sale” or “sharing” of your personal information. We do not sell or share personal information.

8. Children

This site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.

9. Security

We host on a hardened VPS, run HTTPS site-wide with HSTS, and apply security patches promptly. No internet transmission is 100% secure, but we use reasonable safeguards proportional to the data we hold.

10. Changes to this policy

When we update this policy we will change the “Last updated” date at the top. Material changes will be communicated via a banner on the site for at least 30 days.
