The centre hole has to clear a 67.1 mm hub. Factory wheels match it exactly and let the hub carry the load. Aftermarket wheels are usually bored larger to fit several vehicles, and then need hub-centric rings — without them the studs carry the load and you get a vibration that no amount of balancing fixes.

Offset and width
Offset decides whether the tire clears the fender liner at full steering lock and the suspension at full compression. It is the check that catches people out after the pattern matches and the wheel bolts on happily in the driveway. Work out the change before you buy, not after the tires are mounted.

Load rating
Every wheel carries a maximum load stamped on the back. On a truck that tows or hauls this is not a formality — the rating has to cover your axle weight, and a passenger-car wheel in the right pattern is still the wrong wheel.
